====== Other NPCs====== ==== Linden Fox ==== After the fire, Linden went out into the wider world and got a new job. And another. And another... To be honest, considering the number of times he had been fired towards the end, it was a miracle how //anyone// was hiring this man, and yet it was a few years before he finally retired. From home he then became a hobbyist in model railways in a small shed in his back garden. It was only a few weeks before he locked himself inside... thankfully the neighbours could hear him calling out and made a habit of checking every so often to see if it had happened again. ==== Al Unusu ==== Al left Alusia, sprinting, with a menu from the café and a bag of beans; they accepted Roscoe’s help for leaving the desert, at the first sign of civilisation she thanked him and disappeared into the night. Occasionally, coffee shops in communes all over the world would hire a traveller as one of their employees and notice their popularity soar. One day this trend stopped, when somewhere new opened the ‘Not Unusual Café’ with Al Unusu proudly at the helm, grey hairs amongst the black, greeting people with a straight face and monotone ‘do you want to order something?’. ==== Quinn Hartley ==== Quinn ran out of the building with very little on her person: a mug with various cats printed on, the romance novel she was reading, and a picture frame covered in little stickers. Fairly rattled and grieving for her books, she left took a train a long distance away and started up her own little library. While nowhere near the sheer scale of the now burnt Alusia collection, she was happy with organising book clubs and public readings for the local community she found herself in. She always ensured to keep a good stock on the essentials, of course: lemon sherbets, hot chocolate, a good number of beanbags in the reading areas and so on, but she'd always try her best to grow the library as much as possible. It was a matter of time until many familiar names greeted her shelves. ==== Rory Smith ==== Rory continued to work as a security guard, though moved on from Alusia given all that had happened. After some turbulent years bouncing between a few places, he eventually settled into working the night shift at a museum. He grew fond of all the displays he walked past on his surveillance routes, but none captured his intrigue and his imagination to the same extent as the ornate metal cube at the centre of the ancient civilisations exhibit, which he could often be seen standing by for hours upon hours on end. ==== Laszlo Arbim ==== Laszlo died in the fire - a hammer to the head will do that to someone. What became very hard to show in a court of law, however, was that he was in fact dead, what with his dead corpse being inhabited by somebody else. It took many months of argument over the circumstances before his death was officially recognised and announced, much to the confusion of those around him seeing his moving, still very living body. ==== Deaths Among the Staff ==== For the few days after the fire died down and the casualties were counted, obituaries were released across various news outlets. Dozens of names line the page, but a small number pop out to all those who attended the exhibition. Alex Girard was caught in the fire in one of Alusia's deeper departments, trapped by the fire and left with no escapes, in part thanks to Alusia's horrific safety standards. Lily Bush's name came a few weeks later. She'd passed away painfully in a hospital a few days after the incident, having succumbed to a combination of her wounds, and smoke inhalation. Her photo in the paper looks foreign. Strange. It takes a while to pin it down, but no-one had ever seen her smiling.
